Sleeves are the consumable of vinyl: every record needs an inner sleeve, and collectors and shops add an outer sleeve to protect the jacket. SpinForge supplies vinyl record sleeves in bulk and private label packs — paper, poly-lined and HDPE inner sleeves, and PE or PP outer sleeves — for record shops, labels, distributors and accessory brands.

Inner sleeves
The inner sleeve touches the playing surface, so material matters most here.
- Paper inner sleeves — plain white or kraft paper, with or without a center hole; low cost, printable, used by labels and pressing programs.
- Poly-lined paper sleeves — a paper outer with a thin plastic lining inside; popular with collectors as a replacement sleeve. Often marketed as “anti-static”; we specify the construction you ask for but do not publish anti-static test values unless they are measured for your order.
- HDPE / poly inner sleeves — thin, round-bottom plastic sleeves that slide into the jacket easily.
Outer sleeves
Outer sleeves protect the jacket from shelf wear, dust and ring wear.
- PE (polyethylene, usually LDPE) — soft and slightly hazy; forgiving and economical, the common choice for bulk shop use.
- PP (polypropylene) — clearer and crisper, shows artwork well; feels stiffer.
- Resealable flap sleeves, with the adhesive strip on the flap rather than the jacket.
- Gatefold and box-set sizes — wider sleeves for double LPs and deluxe editions.
Thickness is usually quoted in mil or microns and is set per SKU. PVC sleeves exist and some buyers ask for them; many collectors avoid PVC for long-term storage, so we quote it only on request and recommend discussing it with your customers.
Sleeve sizes
Sleeves are sized to the record or jacket they hold: 12-inch inner sleeves fit the 12-inch disc, 12-inch outer sleeves fit over a jacket of about 12.4 in (314 mm) with a little allowance; 7-inch and 10-inch sizes follow the same logic. Sleeve programs for shops, labels and brands
Record shops buy outer sleeves by the thousand for stock and sell retail packs at the counter. Labels and pressing brokers buy printed paper inner sleeves. What is the difference between inner and outer record sleeves?
The inner sleeve holds the disc inside the jacket; the outer sleeve goes over the whole jacket to protect the artwork from wear and dust.
PE or PP outer sleeves — which should we stock?
PE is softer, slightly hazy and economical; PP is clearer and crisper. Many shops stock PE for bulk use and PP for premium or display.
Are poly-lined inner sleeves anti-static?
They are commonly sold as anti-static. We build the construction you specify but do not publish anti-static test values unless measured for your order.
Can you print our label artwork on paper inner sleeves?
Yes, printed paper inner sleeves are available; print and paper are confirmed per SKU.
What is the MOQ and lead time?
Both are quoted per SKU. MOQ depends mainly on material, finish, branding and packaging (stock designs in neutral packaging start lower than custom sizes, custom finishes or printed retail boxes); lead time depends on materials, finishing and season. Are your products certified or load-tested?
We do not display certification badges or publish test data on this site. Requirements such as composite-wood formaldehyde rules, furniture stability or material declarations depend on your market and product; tell us what your market requires and we confirm on the quotation what documentation can be provided for your specific order.
