Vinyl record shelves cube units, bookcases and wall shelves with LP-depth compartments
Most growing collections end up on shelves. A good vinyl record shelf has compartments deep and tall enough for 12-inch jackets, dividers so records stay upright, and shelves that do not sag under weight. SpinForge supplies vinyl record shelves — cube units, bookcase-style shelving and wall-mounted shelves — to furniture retailers, record shops and private label brands.
- LP-depth cubes and compartments (~13 in)
- Dividers to keep records upright
- Shelf thickness and span specified for record weight
- Flat-pack in your finish and carton
Record shelf formats
- Cube units — grids of roughly 13 in (330 mm) cubes, each holding a run of LPs; the format most collectors know.
- Bookcase-style shelving — tall or low units with LP-height shelves and vertical dividers.
- Wall-mounted record shelves — shelves with brackets that hold a short run of LPs spine-out.
- Combination units — shelving with a turntable bay or a display ledge; see record display shelves for front-facing designs.
Designing against sag
Records are dense — a fully loaded 13-inch compartment can carry in the region of 15–25 kg (35–55 lb). Shelf sag depends on board material, thickness, span, edge banding and whether a back panel or divider supports the middle. We choose these per design and confirm load ratings per SKU; we do not publish one-size-fits-all numbers. Wall shelves need fixings that suit the buyer’s wall type, and instructions say so.
Shelving for record shops
Record shops use the same LP-depth shelving for back stock and wall displays. We can quote heavier-duty shelves, assembled units and finishes that match a store fit-out alongside display fixtures.

Frequently asked questions
How deep should a vinyl record shelf be?
Around 13 in (330 mm) clear depth and height suits 12-inch LP jackets in outer sleeves. Shallower shelves leave jackets overhanging.
How many records fit in one cube?
Roughly 70–90 single LPs in a 13-inch cube as a planning estimate; gatefolds and box sets reduce that.
Do you make wall-mounted record shelves?
Yes, with brackets and instructions. The fixing method must suit the wall type at the point of installation.
What is the MOQ and lead time?
Both are quoted per SKU. MOQ depends mainly on material, finish, branding and packaging (stock designs in neutral packaging start lower than custom sizes, custom finishes or printed retail boxes); lead time depends on materials, finishing and season. Send your quantities and we confirm both on the quotation — see also the packaging & MOQ section of our specs guide.
Are your products certified or load-tested?
We do not display certification badges or publish test data on this site. Requirements such as composite-wood formaldehyde rules, furniture stability or material declarations depend on your market and product; tell us what your market requires and we confirm on the quotation what documentation can be provided for your specific order. Load ratings are set per design and confirmed per SKU — ask on the inquiry form.
