Record crates wooden and plastic record storage crates for flipping and stacking
The record crate is the most recognizable piece of vinyl storage — an open box you flip through, carry and stack. SpinForge supplies record crates and record storage crates to record shops, gift and home retailers, e-commerce sellers and labels that want branded merch, in wood or molded plastic and sized for LPs or 7-inch singles.
- Sized for 12-inch LPs or 7-inch singles
- Pine, plywood, bamboo or PP plastic
- Hand holes, stackable and collapsible options
- Laser-engraved, printed or branded with your logo
Record crate types
- Wooden record crates — solid pine, plywood or bamboo with hand holes; the classic gift and shop-counter product.
- Record storage crates with fronts cut low — a lower front panel so jackets are easy to flip and read.
- Stackable crates — interlocking or lipped designs that stack into a wall of storage.
- Plastic and collapsible crates — molded PP crates, including fold-flat designs that save shelf and freight space.
- 7-inch crates — smaller crates for singles and DJ use.
Sizing a record storage crate
Inside, a 12-inch record crate needs roughly 12.75–13 in (325–330 mm) of width so jackets in outer sleeves slide in without catching. Depth sets capacity: as a planning figure about 6 single LPs per inch, so a crate around 14 in (355 mm) deep inside holds in the region of 70–90 LPs. Front-panel height is a trade-off between support and visibility. See the specs & selection guide.
Branding crates for shops and labels
Crates are a natural merch and gift product. Logos can be laser-engraved or printed on wooden panels, or molded / printed on plastic crates. Bundles with outer sleeves or a cleaning kit work well for gift seasons.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a record crate and a record storage crate?
Buyers use both terms for the same product: an open crate sized for records. “Storage crate” is often used for stackable or lidded versions.
How many records fit in a record crate?
It depends on internal depth. Commonly 50–100 LPs; about 6 single LPs per inch of depth is a useful planning figure.
Can you engrave our logo on the crates?
Yes — laser engraving or printing on wood, and molded or printed logos on plastic crates.
What is the MOQ and lead time?
Both are quoted per SKU. MOQ depends mainly on material, finish, branding and packaging (stock designs in neutral packaging start lower than custom sizes, custom finishes or printed retail boxes); lead time depends on materials, finishing and season. Send your quantities and we confirm both on the quotation — see also the packaging & MOQ section of our specs guide.
Are your products certified or load-tested?
We do not display certification badges or publish test data on this site. Requirements such as composite-wood formaldehyde rules, furniture stability or material declarations depend on your market and product; tell us what your market requires and we confirm on the quotation what documentation can be provided for your specific order. Load ratings are set per design and confirmed per SKU — ask on the inquiry form.
