Vinyl record storage types
- Record cabinets — enclosed furniture with LP compartments, doors and often a turntable top; the highest ticket in the category.
- Record shelves — cube units, bookcase-style shelving and wall shelves with LP-depth compartments.
- Record crates — open wooden or plastic crates that hold a run of LPs for flipping; stackable and giftable.
- Record storage boxes — lidded board boxes, flip-top cases and carry cases for LPs and 7-inch singles.
- Record player stands — turntable furniture with storage underneath.
Sizing storage for 12-inch and 7-inch records
A 12-inch LP jacket is about 12.4 in (314 mm) square, and an outer protective sleeve adds a little more. LP storage therefore needs roughly 13 in (330 mm) of clear height and depth. 7-inch singles in picture sleeves are about 7.3 in (185 mm) square and need around 7.5–8 in (190–200 mm). As a planning figure, about 6 single LPs fit per inch of width, so a 13-inch-wide compartment holds roughly 70–90 LPs depending on gatefolds and sleeves. More tables in the specs & selection guide.
Storage design basics
Records should stand vertically, packed firmly enough not to lean but not so tight they are hard to pull. Dividers every so often stop long runs from slumping, and backs or lips keep LPs from sliding out. Because a full shelf of records is heavy, shelf thickness, span and fixings matter as much as looks — we specify these per design and confirm load ratings per SKU rather than publishing generic numbers.
Programs for every channel
Record shops sell crates, boxes and sleeves at the counter; furniture retailers carry cabinets and shelves; e-commerce sellers need flat-pack, parcel-friendly cartons; distributors want mixed containers across the range. See OEM & private label and wholesale.

Frequently asked questions
How should vinyl records be stored?
Upright, supported so they do not lean, away from direct sun and heat sources, and in inner and outer sleeves. Storage should be sized so jackets are not squeezed.
Do you make storage for 7-inch singles?
Yes — boxes, crates and shelf inserts can be sized for 7-inch singles, 10-inch records or mixed formats.
Can I mix cabinets, crates and boxes in one order?
Yes, mixed orders across the storage range are common and help fill containers.
What is the MOQ and lead time?
Both are quoted per SKU. MOQ depends mainly on material, finish, branding and packaging (stock designs in neutral packaging start lower than custom sizes, custom finishes or printed retail boxes); lead time depends on materials, finishing and season. Send your quantities and we confirm both on the quotation — see also the packaging & MOQ section of our specs guide.
Are your products certified or load-tested?
We do not display certification badges or publish test data on this site. Requirements such as composite-wood formaldehyde rules, furniture stability or material declarations depend on your market and product; tell us what your market requires and we confirm on the quotation what documentation can be provided for your specific order. Load ratings are set per design and confirmed per SKU — ask on the inquiry form.
